  August is upon us with the dog days of summer, vacations are ending and the harvest season will soon start.

 I have been thinkig a lot about prayer and feel this a good time to start a new session on things we need to draw attention to, beginning with prayer this month.

  Why Pray? Ephesians 6:18 says, Pray at all times in the power of the Holy Spirit.

  1. There is a devil. We need to pray as he will keep us from folloing God. Ephesians 6.

  2. Prayer is God's way of obtaining thngs.

  3. The apostles regarded prayer as essential. Acts 6:4

  4. Prayer held a prominate place in the Lords earthly ministry.

  5. Prayer was important for Christ after he arose. Hebrews 7:25

  When we think about Valentine's day, we think about two words, Love and heart. Usually, this refers to human love. A wonderful thing God has

 allowed us to share. God also uses the same words in relationships with our relationship with God. John 13:34. A new commandment I give unto

 you that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, also love one another. God reached out to man and showed his great love to us all by

 giving us His Son to be our saviour. That was a sacrificial love giving His best to us.

 We in return love the Lord by giving us our best in service for him. This includes reaching out to those around us to show His love to

 others. The heart plays a big part in Valentines day. We give our heart to someone we love. This also applies to God. Jeremiah 29:13 says, You

 will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. On a human level, we spend time with the one we love. We look forward to being

 with them. This is also our relationship with God. We are to seek Him, to find Him. We do it with our heart. Give Him time each day and long

 to be with Him in His word.
